There is some motivation to use blackhat, but on the other hand, this is a SEO contest. The goal is to find what works best. If you can get to the top entries with blackhat, so be it. The only deterrent is generally blackhat doesn’t work.

Really cool contest but no point making such SEO contest where the only goal is to be the first in search results that encourages people to use black hat SEO techniques. Contest must have means to discourage blackhatting.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I think it’s possible to make the jump up to rank one, but not likely. To be honest, ranking #2 (for me at least) is a lot more than I hoped for. Being rather new with SEO, finishing in the top three is my goal.
